Nikolaos Meimetis
I am a computational systems biologist & engineer with mobility from Greece (NTUA Mechanical Engineering) to the USA (MIT Biological Engineering), now returning to Europe to conduct my research in AI-driven translational oncology. I have built methods that turn omic profiles into actionable models, linking the molecular states of cells to therapeutic decisions. I have experience in approaches in Bioinformatics, Bioengineering, and computational modeling of biological systems with Deep Learning and Machine Learning applications, especially in the fields of Systems Biology, Drug Discovery, and therapeutics. Meanwhile, my engineering education has equipped me with a robust mathematical and control theory background. I am a big advocate of open science, and thus all my publications are open access, and I release code and derived resources openly (GitHub/Zenodo) with clear docs and permissive licenses. Now, I want to leverage my computational and mathematical background to tackle problems in oncology and directly improve patients’ experience.
