The sex and gender perspective has been systematically ignored for decades, leading to and unequal access to healthcare, delayed and overall suboptimal treatment, and worse population health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The purpose of this workshop is twofold: on the one hand, we aim to raise awareness on the necessity to include an interdisciplinary perspective in research, with the main focus on sex and gender; on the other hand we will provide a selection of tools to develop best practices related to data collection and processing. The workshop is designed following an interdisciplinary approach with researchers from different backgrounds to consider both sex as a biological variable as well as the social, cultural and interactional aspects of gender.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We will explore in depth how sex and gender are currently operationalized in health, specifically in the bioinformatics field. We will identify what should be measured during the research phase and how it should be reported in scientific communication and dissemination. Using several examples from different cases, we will explore practices and formulate recommendations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The structure of the workshop will be divided into three parts. In the first part, a keynote with the main contents of international reference will be presented by a distinguished professional in the area of Gendered Innovations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second part will provide knowledge about sex and gender bias and the social impact in health and AI development and applications, the ethical aspects of AI addressed at the international level, and the differences of sex and gender and their specific implications of AI in health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The third part will develop practical cases for each participant, to analyze the application of the sex and gender perspective in their work, as well as in the preparation of proposals, review of projects, and research lines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-heading stk-block-heading stk-block stk-cdd954b\" data-block-id=\"cdd954b\"><style>.stk-cdd954b .stk-block-heading__bottom-line{height:1px !important;background-color:var(u002du002dpaletteColor2,#f7b032) !important;margin-top:12px !important}<\/style><h5 class=\"stk-block-heading__text\">Target Audience<\/h5><div class=\"stk-block-heading__bottom-line\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants who work or have an interest in the field of health, spanning from basic biomedical research to clinical practice, public health, and social medicine.
